Brooke Bennish (she/her) is a New York based queer singer/songwriter. A woman well acquainted with indecisiveness, her sound walks a jagged line of genres, floating between gothic alt pop, folk, soft rock, and technicolor golden age theatre. Her music centers cutting, vulnerable lyrics and raw vocals, exploring the contrast of love and heartbreak, peace and disquiet, and the never-ending internal battle between optimism and cynicism. She encourages listeners to delve into their big feelings as they immerse themselves in her world of melodrama, avant-garde outfits, petticoats and petty grievances.

Teri Bracken’s career as Brontë Fall began almost accidentally. The singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who was born and raised in the Chicago suburbs had always been a music obsessive, dreaming of forming her own bands and playing on stages. While working at The Hideout, a beloved music venue in Chicago, Bracken told the talent buyer she was working under that she started a band. A week later, the booker asked if her band wanted to play a show there. So, Bracken hit the practice studio with a friend to add to the mere 2 songs they had written as said band. She threw together a bio, took some press photos, and sat in a cafe all day until she came up with a band name. Inspired by the perseverance of the Brontë sisters—whose resistance to gender stereotypes in their industry would be a guiding light for Bracken—she named the group “Brontë.” She added “Fall” after her favorite Emily Brontë poem, “Fall, Leaves, Fall.” That was the beginning of what has become Bracken’s life—a dedication to songcraft, equality, and the Nashville community she now calls home. This new era of Brontë Fall is heralded by the stunning single “Woman Like Me,” which emerged from years in the industry that were trying and heartbreaking, but ultimately strengthened her resolve in her mission. After releasing Finishing School in 2020 and recording Winter in 2021 (released in 2022), the songwriter, who has called Nashville home for six years, took some time to be with her ailing father. “Life really went off the rails. On Winter, I was writing about being in a tornado. That’s what my world felt like,” Bracken explains. She’d finish tours and go visit her father in the hospital, who ultimately passed away in July 2022. It’s in his honor that this new work began. “I write. That’s how I get through life,” Bracken explains.

Strange Majik is the musical alter ego of David Pattillo, an artist fusing the genres of Indie rock, 70's soul vibe, and alternative garage into modern unforgettable classic songs. With iconic personal style, ace guitar skills, and intoxicating stage presence, Majik puts on an explosive live show. NYC’s Deli Magazine dubbed him a “blues rock cult hero,” London’s Shindig Magazine called him a “NYC icon.” His upcoming 2024 LP “NYC Animal” is not just an album; it’s a journey. Inspired by a weekly party in lower Manhattan, with 20 something’s dancing to Y2K rock bangers and fashion photogs shooting models barely clad in indie sleaze looks, Pattillo found himself in a modern Electric Circus channeling Lou Reed and Iggy Pop. The title track could be likened to his own version of “Walk On The Wild Side,” a testament to the glitzy characters of city life. It’s NY Rock to the core draped in psychedelic soul with moody nocturnal hues shaping a dramatic character arc of inner triumph. With over 100 published songs and a lengthy credit list, Pattillo has a history in the music scene. He has written and produced songs for Motown/Universal producer Linda Perry and The Berman Brothers, co-written with Nashville music row coterie, co-produced Live From The Artists Den series on PBS (for which he was nominated for an Emmy), hosted a radio show on Amazing Radio UK, and paid his dues working with a long list of artists from Public Enemy, Sonic Youth, Moby and Beastie Boys in the NYC studio scene. Recently he was featured by Shooter Jennings at the Beachlife Ranch Fest in Redondo Beach with Mike and the Moonpies, Jakob Dylan and The Wallflowers in Brooklyn, and in the past veteran songwriters Ray Wylie Hubbard and Willie Nile. He has shared stages with Black Pistol Fire, DADDY LONG LEGS, Hollis Brown, Jesse Malin, and has appeared with Clem Burke (Blondie), Mark Bosch (Ian Hunter). He has toured throughout the US, UK and Europe and has been featured in Goldmine Magazine, Shindig Magazine, Record Collector Magazine, Creem Magazine, The Deli Magazine, and blogs and podcasts. His songs have been licensed by international sports brands, TV shows and films. He discovered great talent in Valerie Broussard, Fiona Silver, Melanie Charles, and Kennedy Administration and featured them on his 2015 release "Lights On." Goodbye Picasso

Songwriter Chris Dreyer and guitarist Scott Taylor formed Goodbye Picasso in New York City in 2007 after making a move from Nashville and instantly made a splash in the city’s vibrant music scene. They are regulars at songwriters-haven Rockwood Music Hall and won the Audience Award at the 2008 A.N.T. Festival at Ars Nova for Chris Dreyer’s magnum opus, The Book of Aylene. The band has performed several times at the CMJ Music Marathon and have released an album, The Book of Aylene. “Nashville was great, but everyone we spoke with in the industry really thought New York was the place for us,” explains Chris. “If you are working towards a career in Country or Christian, there is no better place than Nashville, but they were right: NYC has been a great launching pad for our music and the audiences have responded in the way we always hoped they would.” Chris and Scott met in London while studying abroad as students at Florida State University. Their musical chemistry was so immediate, they played 3 standing-room-only shows in London and recorded an EP within a month of meeting one another. Back in the states, they performed over 350 shows in the Southeast music scene and on trips up and down the East Coast with bands formed while in school and with sidemen afterward. In 2006, the year they lived in Nashville, they played 80 shows in 6 months, culminating with their first appearance at the CMJ Music Marathon in NYC, a show that made them realize they could thrive in the city’s crowded musical ecosystem. “When we look back, it’s really amazing how many shows we managed to play when we were in school and the few years after,” recalls Scott. “I was such a big fan of Chris’s writing from the beginning, and we were so excited to perform, playing all those shows really helped us cut our teeth and figure out how a build a show that audiences really enjoyed.” Goodbye Picasso’s latest undertaking is the first full-length album of Chris’s songs, the recording of his massive and beautiful work, The Book of Aylene. The group premiered the work originally in performances as part of an arts festival in the city and spent much of 2009 on the recording, mixing, and post-production of it. Chris’s songs bear the influence of some of the other great songwriters who made a name for themselves in the late ’90s and the early part of this century. He doesn’t crib the tunes of Conor Oberst, Ryan Adams, or Jeff Tweedy, but his songs seem to come from the same vocabularly: more alt than country, more earnest than insincere, and more world-weary than naive. Goodbye Picasso maintain an active performance schedule.

The Ruminators with Patti Rothberg have been played on WFMU and WHUS. John Bassilikis is a big supporter at UConn Radio. Catch and Release, a collection of anthems to make you cheer and sing. Very relatable unfortunately. Rothberg played all the guitar and bass parts on her debut album, Between the 1 and the 9. Just Jill, known for her work with Suzanne Vega, in the Anti-Folk scene in NYC.

Patti Rothberg’s recording career goes back to 1996, with her debut on EMI Records, ‘Between the 1 and the 9’, which refers to the time she spent performing in New York City’s 14th Street subway station. The title track relates some of her experiences when an EMI executive discovered Patti performing there. Seemingly overnight, Patti Rothberg achieved the kind of worldwide success one could only dream of. Critically acclaimed, Between the 1 and the 9 was an instant hit and remains a timeless classic. The success of Between the 1 and the 9 had Patti touring quite non-stop from 1996 through 1997, and into 1998. She toured the USA supporting the Wallflowers, Chris Isaak, Midnight Oil, and Garbage, and she toured Europe supporting the Black Crowes. Patti and her band performed on Late Night with David Letterman, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, and she appeared on the Oprah Winfrey Show.

Just Jill, a NYC Native, returned to NYC, after her Chicago stint in ’99. She was a fixture in the Anti-Folk scene in the East Village at Sidewalk Café in the Aughts. Her album, “Shift”, was recorded by Major Matt Mason USA, a major influencer in the Anti-Folk scene. Just Jill’s music was played on Marc Maron’s WTF podcast and was included on a collection of songs related to 9/11, Vigil, organized by Suzanne Vega. Her 2020 release, “To Amuse,” featured Patti Rothberg and Freddie Katz, who lent their magic to the album. Rothberg recorded, produced, and played most instrumentation on “Catch and Release." Jill and Patti are near completion of their 2nd EP, It's You. Jill has a photo in the permanent collection of the Museum of the City of NY.

Born from the smokey depths of Brooklyn nightlife, Honeysucker is a sonic manifestation of the raw energy that pulses through the city after-hours. Carrying echoes of late-night confessions, the wisdom of worn-out barstools, and the allure of neon lights flickering on rain-soaked streets. Honeysucker came into existence during the spring of 2022 when two wishfully accomplished Brooklyn based indie-pop musicians, Jack Brickner and Sam Wright, joined forces. Feeling a bit worn out within their individual endeavors, they were both looking for a fresh creative spark. Their introduction came courtesy of a mutual friend, and it didn't take much time for them to discover a shared passion for old-school acts like Hall & Oates and Bobby Caldwell, along with contemporary maestros like Ginger Root and Arctic Monkeys. Determined to forge a new sonic identity, influenced by new-wave, indie, R&B, and pop, they devoted the lion's share of 2022 and 2023 to composing, recording, and live testing their new material. With the addition of Zach Kornhauser and Gavi Kutliroff to their live lineup, Honeysucker is poised for an exciting year ahead. They are set to unveil a fresh wave of singles, stage captivating performances across the diverse venues, basements, and rooftops of New York, and establish their presence as an integral part of Brooklyn's music scene.

Adoraborealis is an enchanting indie folk rock ensemble, led by enigmatic singer-songwriter-producer Mike Messer. Anchored by a collective of A-List-All-Stars, this musical force’s goal is to  transcend genres, and weave a sonic narrative emcompassing progressive folk, rock, and world music.

Adoraborealis' debut album, "Live and in Two Persons," recorded at the iconic Rockwood Stage 2, earned acclaim for it's poignant melodies, profound wordplay, and a rare amalgamation of influences ranging from Cat Stevens and Jeff Buckley to Paul Simon, Vampire Weekend, Randy Newman, and David Bowie.

Guitars and emotive vocals take center stage, dancing amidst swirling prog chords and Latin grooves. The band's lyrical prowess champions the enduring strength of love, triumphing over heartbreak, loss, and the pangs of isolation, delivering soul-soothing compositions that resonate universally.

Mike Messer, a luminary known for his earlier exploits with "The Dirty Sock Funtime Band" and his contributions to Nickelodeon, Sesame Street, and FX's "Sex Drugs and Rock n Roll," has etched his mark in the fabric of the NYC live music scene. Beyond his musical endeavors, Mike boasts a storied career as an actor on Off-Broadway stages and a globe-trotting performer. As the voice behind the best selling Tonies  new original content, the theme song of the international hit cartoon "Super Wings”, ads for the NY Times, Bank of Boston, and as the hapless “Nate the IT Guy” in the Wasabi Technologies commercials, Mike's artistry echoes across continents.

Born as a recording project during the pandemic, Adoraborealis blossomed into a beacon of positivity through Messer’s daily online "Cooped Up Concerts," offering solace to those grappling with isolation. Since the world reopened its doors, Adoraborealis has graced the airwaves of Sirius XM radio, the Dumbo Vinyls Renaissance Radio Show, featured on podcasts "The Long Island Sound" and "Comics who love Comics," headlined shows in Los Angeles and New York, and found a home at Rockwood for a series of monthly performances in 2023.

Adoraborealis invites you on a musical odyssey that defies boundaries, captivating audiences with its distinctive blend of indie prog folk, rock, and world music. Through vivid imagery, introspective reflection, and an unwavering connection to the human experience, Adoraborealis crafts a sonic journey that resonates deeply with hearts and minds alike.

She started collaborating with Nikos Kordelis in Athens in 2019, performing throughout Art Spaces in Athens and from that experimentation, she initiated the album NORMAL. The album is autobiographical experimentation and reflection on the social masks which block intimacy—inspired by bands like Velvet Underground, Tom Waits, The Rolling Stones, Lori Anderson and Matthew Barney. This album creates a music-scape, in which we dive into and lose our "selves" with others. She is finishing up her second album A SIMPLE WOMAN which she created in Ireland in 2023/24. This album is a soundtrack to a film she made in Ireland called AN ACT OF LOVE which will be released in 2024. Hide & Shine

Instagram | Bandcamp | YouTube

Writer Chris Kelly describes Hide and Shine as starting with a “psychic download of 50 song ideas” in 2022. These ideas were about to become another in a line of obscure, unknown, invisible solo projects, but a chance meeting with drummer Michael Chambers sparked the wild notion of “a band.” The two began making noise and translating the musical sketches into songs. The addition of bassist Chris Ferguson completed the lower frequencies of this power-trinity. “Songs don’t come from people, they come through people.” Hide and Shine are the stewards of this music—tasked with translating the images and commands of the unconscious world, into the sounds and words of this world. The sounds reflect a range of sensibilities, across seven decades of American and British music, and the lyrics often hint at esoteric themes. The songs seem unusual but feel familiar, or perhaps it’s the other way around. The work has been described as “energetic, and moody, and real, and other; a kind of art/death/country/rock/alternative.” Hide and Shine resides in and around Kingston, NY. They recorded and produced their debut album (June 2024) and had the great privilege of mixing it with Steve Albini. The second batch of 14 songs was already being recorded, prior to the debut being released. There is much work ahead.

Olivia Foschi

Website | EPK | Instagram | Apple Music | Spotify

Olivia Foschi is a jazz singer, composer and educator that weaves together the rich tapestries of her San Francisco roots and Italian upbringing with her profound passion for jazz, which ignited under the tutelage of Roy Zimmerman and further blossomed through her classical Nepali vocal studies with Aavaas in Kathmandu. Her academic journey in English Literature and formal music education across Italy and Leeds University fortified her artistic foundation, leading to a first-place victory at the Italian “Jazz Women in Blues” competition in 2009. Relocating to New York in 2010, Foschi’s exploration of jazz deepened, studying under Marc Mommaas, Fay Victor, and Jeremiah Abiah, and delving into the rhythmic complexities of Konnakol with Ganesh Kumar since 2014. With albums like Perennial Dreamer and Fleeting Windows to her credit, Foschi has cemented her place in the jazz world, eagerly anticipating the release of her third record in June 2024. Olivia has graced major stages in New York City, including The Blue Note, City Winery, BB Kings, Zinc Bar, and Drom, and has performed at festivals and clubs throughout the US, Europe and Japan. She was featured on NPR in 2016, 2017, 2021 and 2024 on WPPB’s live broadcast: The Jam Session Radio Hour hosted by John Landes. She has recorded and shared the stage with Gil Goldstein, Chris White, Warren Smith, Joseph Jarman, Thurman Barker, Ulysses Owens Jr., Gregoire Maret, Alex Sipiagin, Mauricio Zottarelli, Helio Alves, Greg Skaff, Mark Egan, Tommy Campbell, Lou Caputo, Erik Lawrence, Marco Panascìa, Stacy Dillard, Bill O'Connell, Matt King, Reza Khan, Vinicius Gomes and Yotam Silberstein among many others. Foschi’s latest endeavor, A Window Within, emerges as a deeply personal narrative set against the backdrop of global upheaval and personal loss. This album, a testament to Foschi’s resilience and creativity, was sparked by a challenge from drummer Mauricio Zottarelli to expand her repertoire of original compositions. Amid then reflective solitude of the Covid pandemic and the poignant loss of her grandmothers, Foschi embarked on a cathartic creative process that reaffirmed her identity as a composer and musician. Musically, the album is a collaborative effort, with Foschi and Zottarelli crafting the heart of the arrangements, further refined by the adept pianist Matt King. The ensemble, completed by Marco Panascìa (bass) and Vinicius Gomes (guitar), brings to life Foschi’s compositions in a recording session that can only be described as magical. “Foschi is today’s vocalist, blazing the trail for a new style of jazz vocals, not adhering to traditional sounds or rhythms, but appealing to a new generation of listeners, while still honoring jazz as a tradition. She is truly original and far from the norm as a composer and as a vocalist.” - H. Allen Williams, JazzTimes “Foschi hits her marks with impeccable timing and finesse and is a name to watch out for.” - Brent Black, Critical Jazz

Violin, Guitar, and vocals: the bread and butter that makes Piatt who he is. These skills and talents take the forefront of his new, self-titled album "Piatt Pund" with a combination of Blues/Rock, Jazz, and Soul. Pushing the boundaries of what it means to be a multi-instrumentalist is what Piatt has set out to do with his career. Ranging from Classical to Jazz education, along with bluegrass and pop, all of these genres can be heard clearly within the nuance of his tone and soul. Piatt started his journey in music with a cardboard violin at the age of four. At the age of seven, he picked up the ukulele. From there, his musical interests cascaded forward picking up the mandolin at 13 years-old, the Irish Bouzouki, Dulcimer, Bass Guitar, and Guitar at 14, and finally the Harmonica at 17. These instruments have shaped how he thinks about music, not only arrangement wise, but also how to break the boundaries of what fits the genre he is going for. Hailing from Boulder, CO, Piatt began classical training for the violin. After living in the Centennial State for 12 years, he moved with his family to sunny San Diego, CA. This is where Piatt became involved within his beach community and joined several local bands, as well as formed his duo with his brother. Going into high school, he became exposed to American Roots music and became infatuated with the blues and how it has shaped American history. Piatt found his soul within the blues and plans to take it to new heights.
