Kita P is a singer/songwriter/ event curator based in Harrisburg, PA. From 2008 through 2021 she lived and performed in NYC. She recently headlined the Memorial Day Arts Fest Harrisburg 2023 with her band Black Licorice (Video on IG). She still performs in NYC from Rockwood Music Hall to Bowery Electric. She has performed in Philadelphia, Baltimore, Dallas, Boston, Cape Town, Gambia (West Africa) and many more places either solo (just her and her guitar) or with her full band, Black Licorice (keys, bass and drums). Her newest releases of 2022 are Our Love (a collaborative single with Chris Rozik), Escaped Prisms (single with Will Porter and her band, Black Licorice) and kANDi (a collaborative EP with Isaac Sawyer). She is currently based back in her hometown of Harrisburg PA and seeking out opportunities to perform for her and her band. Kita P has a style of Soul, R&B and some jazz. Her sound is often described as melodic and soulful with some of her greatest influences being Anita Baker, Luther Vandross, Me’shell Ndegeocello and more. Folks have often said they can listen to Kita P with their eyes closed and be taken away; thus coining the Kita P Music as a #BlindVibe. She uses her art to create experiences that feed the person, the soul.
