Mary Edwards & Rashmi

Mary Edwards

Mary Edwards is a composer, songwriter and sound artist whose projects range from recordings and performances "evocative of epic film soundtracks combined with lyrical intimacy..." (Time Out NY), to cinematic audio and immersive environmental/architectural sound installations. Themes of temporality, impermanence and the natural world are interspersed throughout her work.

Rashmi

RASHMI, a NYC-based singer, songwriter, producer, actress, and screenwriter, is the recipient of the Queens Council on the Arts New Works Grant, the Puffin Foundation Grant, and a Queens and New York Public Library Featured Musician.  She is a current New York Screenwriting Fellow with the Writers Guild East and FilmNation.

Rashmi's melodic global pop sound is as unique as her varied & diverse influences.  She was executive producer on her last two albums, PUZZLE and RAINSTORM, which were both critically well-received. She has been featured on NY1, ABC and Fox News.  She has been commissioned to write songs for dance, theatre, and film, and most recently, the theme song for an early childhood education show on climate change.

Rashmi is a five-time selected Writer-in-Performance for the Tribeca Performing Arts Center for which she wrote songs, plays, and spoken word, including the shows’ theme songs performed by all the artists.
