Molly Murphy is a recent graduate from the University of Notre Dame who is now down in Nashville full time. While at Notre Dame she was the lead singer and songwriter for Nickels and Dimes, a band that performed locally around South Bend. Now a solo act, Molly has been described as “a young promising songwriter with a big heart,” by industry professionals and her voice and style have been compared to Joni Mitchell and Joan Baez. The last few years have been full of growth for Molly as she released music to critical praise. “Instantly identifiable,” said Jonathan Frahm of the For Folk’s Sake blog, "Murphy gels into accessible, varied music with her gorgeous idiosyncratic lilt." Molly has played in cities around the country including New York, New Orleans, L.A. and Chicago and has opened for New York Times featured folk artist Heather Maloney. She finished 2023 up strong with a returning performance on the television program Today in Nashville, and the release of her EP "Tigers in Your Backyard."
