With an infusion of modern sonic sensibilities, New York City-bred recording artist, Rick Rocker manages to crack open the time capsule on all we know and love of rock and roll.  Heavily inspired by giants like Bon Jovi, U2 and Led Zeppelin, Rocker’s music takes listeners on a trip down memory lane while steering us through his every day life of love, hope, and triumph.  “He writes songs that are near-instant anthems, made for shouting from rooftops, an arena or just your own bedrooms,” says Queens Tribune.  Transparency & vulnerability are recurring pillars throughout Rocker’s previous releases including his acclaimed EP, “Love Turn” (2020), and it’s sure to reveal itself again in his forthcoming project due to begin production in June 2022.

Rocker has proven himself to be a fully formed artist as not just a visionary and songwriter, but also taking the stage in and out of NYC.  He has graced legendary venues such as The Bitter End, The Studio at Webster Hall, and The Cutting Room, each time taking fans on a journey to find fulfillment and joy from within themselves.  Rocker has also been featured on over 100 radio stations and counting, spanning across the USA and even internationally in the UK.

His 2020 EP release,“Love Turn” was created in collaboration with brilliant producers, Red Triangle (Charlie Puth, Green Day, 5 Seconds of Summer) and Joey Auch (Rachel Platten, Erin Bowman, Decora), who aided in Rocker’s necessity for a sonic catharsis through one of the most turbulent experiences of his life.  One such song, “What Would I Do”, is an ode of gratitude and reflection after a life-altering scare when Rocker’s mother was at risk of a cancer diagnosis.  Thankfully, she received a clean bill of health, but the weight of the possibility of losing her cut deep enough to lead to one of Rocker’s most powerful songs to date.

While fans agree that Rick Rocker seems like he’s taken to music like a fish to water, his journey actually began with just a $50 guitar named “Thor” that was gifted to his older sister, the musician of the family at that time.  She taught him a riff to practice which he later learned was Metallica’s “Nothing Else Matters”, a foreshadowing song title considering that Rocker’s love of the artform continues to fuel him to this day.  With preliminary plans for his next project in the works, Rocker is still driven by his ultimate vision of playing Madison Square Garden and touring the world, continuing to meet fans along the way who have found as much freedom and connection through rock music as he has.  “Within the genre of rock, you can do anything.” – Rick Rocker
